A Nigerian student studying in the United States, Noel Ifeanyi Alumona, has won the 2022 AFS Award for Young Global Citizens, and became the first African to win the prize since its inception in 1914.

MEET
Noel Ifeanyi Alumona
He is passionate about education and more specifically improving access to quality education in underserved communities. From over 5 years of practical classroom teaching, to monitoring and evaluation, research and observations into pupil outcomes, and now Special Education of kids with Learning Disabilities, his experience as an education professional is multi-faceted.
After gaining experience in such a diverse spectrum in education, he is currently a researcher pursuing a degree in Education at renowned and US number 1 ranked university in Education. Noel’s varied experiences in education give him a unique perspective that will lend itself to policy and development applications.
After meeting Barack Obama in Johannesburg in 2018, Noel founded Boys Champions – a nonprofit organization that is committed to providing a Safe Space for boys. In 2013, Noel also founded Hope for African Children, a community-based organization that increases access to education for children with disabilities and vulnerable children in underserved communities. As a Community Development Specialist, he has helped improve access to education for over 13,000 vulnerable children, victims of disasters and violent extremism in Nigeria. Through these experiences, he has developed strong project development, management, and implementation skills.
He enjoys providing solutions to issues focusing on peace-building, education policy, special education, youth value development, and childcare improvement. He has a strong passion for community services with an overall interest in global peace, education and foreign diplomatic affairs.
Noel is interested in Education Consulting, Technical Advisory in education policy contexts and teacher development. He is also open to other creative ways in which he can bring his skills and experiences to improve access and equity in education.

Why do l want to volunteer in boys conference?
I’m advocate of training youths and catching them young, l have trained more 4,000 youths in our Facebook community, Jidekaiji Global services,
on how to build their confidence, discover their talents/skills and monitize it, and become whatever they are destined to be, to add value to the society and the world.
We can’t continue to raise good girls for bad boys, those boys we refuse to pay attention to now, will later damage the good girls you are grooming.
In #Fatherlessoutreachwithchizispace, an outreach founded when my children @Chizispace and @Chizispace lost their father untimely.
we also address important roles of fathers to train their son’s to have good moral value same way with girls because the son if trained/raised well, they are the one that will make great father’s.
and other human development, outreach we usually carry out to make positive impact in the society and the world 🌎.
Hence when l came across boys conference, l decided to reach and contribute and volunteer.
