Once upon a time. There was a lady named Chidimma. Chidimma was born and raised in SA. Her father is Nigerian.
Chidimma has a passion for pageantry. So, one day, she decided to represent SA in the miss universe competition. But, SA, a place with a history of pre_<ju>dice decided that someone whose father is Nigerian would not be allowed the right to represent SA, a country where she was born and bred.
Long story short, Chidimma was threatened out of the competition in SA.
Nigeria, her fatherland accepted her with open hands and Chidimma was accepted to participate in the miss universe Nigeria. But that wasn’t enough for the mumus of SA. These mumus massively voted for one of Chidimma’s fellow competitor just to make sure Chidimma doesn’t win. But God is not man and the world doesn’t revolve around human “stewpeedity”. Chidimma emerged the winner of miss Universe Nigeria and was to represent Nigeria in the Miss Universe.
Again, that wasn’t enough for these SA mumus. They wrote a petition to the Organizers of miss Universe to jeopardize Chidimma’s eligibility to participate at the miss universe. They were thoroughly ignored as the mumu that they are.
The representative of SA came 126th out of 127th, and she had to shamefuIIy drop out of the competition even before the actual event began. Citing “health reasons” as a cover-up for her incapacity to participate and represent her country on a global stage.
Chidimma, the woman who was rejected in SA went ahead to represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe. She performed impressively and emerged as the 1st runner up.
Chidimma fought against strong SA forces to achieve what she achieved. Her success is a testament of her resilience.
One of the best things that happened to Chidimma was being kicked out of the miss universe SA. Because she would NEVER have won in a country where they have a historic preference of handling the crown to people with lighter skin color. Chidimma would never have been able to thrive in such a tox environment.
If SA hadn’t kicked Chidimma out, Nigeria wouldn’t have had any reason to rescue Chidimma and offer her another opportunity. And Chidimma would never had represented at the Miss Universe.
Chidimma has achieved today what SA would never have been able to offer her.
All hail the Queen, Chidimma. Congratulations!
Nigeria is proud of you.
